FAQ

Questions patients actually ask

Billing, refunds, prescriptions, and the limits of what this practice does.

+What exactly am I paying for?

A licensed clinician's time and judgment. The $39 fee pays PWS-TX PLLC to review your medical intake, determine whether treatment is appropriate for you, build a treatment plan, and remain responsible for your care afterward. It does not pay for medication.

+Is this a pharmacy?

No. PWS Clinical is a medical practice. We do not stock, compound, dispense, sell, ship, or mark up medication. If your clinician prescribes something, it is sent to an independent licensed pharmacy that we do not own, and that pharmacy bills you separately.

+What will show up on my credit card statement?

Our charge appears as PWS CLINICAL. If you are also prescribed medication, the pharmacy bills you under its own name in a separate transaction. Two charges from two different companies is expected. If you see something you do not recognize, contact us before filing a dispute and we will identify it within one business day.

+Will I be charged again automatically?

No. There is no subscription, no membership, and no automatic recurring charge. If continuing treatment later requires a new clinical evaluation, you are told the cost and you authorize it before anything is charged.

+What if the clinician decides I should not be treated?

You are refunded in full. That is the entire point of charging for the evaluation rather than the outcome: our clinicians can decline patients without it costing you anything. Refunds go back to your original payment method, typically within five to ten business days.

+Do you take insurance?

No. This is a cash-pay practice with a flat fee, which is usually less than a specialist copay. You may submit an itemized receipt to your insurer, HSA, or FSA administrator yourself, and we will provide one on request.

+Which states can you treat patients in?

Our clinicians hold active licenses covering 28 jurisdictions. You must be physically located in one of them at the time of your visit. If your state is not covered, we will tell you before you are charged.

+Do you prescribe controlled substances?

No. This practice does not prescribe any medication on the DEA controlled substance schedules. That includes stimulants, benzodiazepines, opioids, and testosterone. If that is what you need, we are not the right practice and we will say so.

+Is a prescription guaranteed if I pay?

No, and any telehealth service that guarantees one is not practicing medicine. A clinician evaluates your case and reaches a clinical conclusion. Sometimes that conclusion is that treatment is not appropriate for you, in which case you are refunded.

+Who is responsible for my care?

The licensed clinician who evaluates you, working under the clinical protocols set by this practice's Medical Director. Clinical authority sits with licensed clinicians only. No administrative or business partner can override a treatment decision.

+Can I talk to my clinician after my visit?

Yes. Follow-up messaging with your care team is included in the clinical fee for your treatment period. Use it for questions, side effects, and dose concerns.

+What if I have an emergency?

Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. This practice does not provide emergency or urgent care and cannot respond to time-sensitive medical situations.
